Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting outpatient services and ensuring accurate and timely coding and claim processing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing outpatient clinical documentation and assigning accurate CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes.
- Supporting timely submission of medical insurance claims.
- Checking diagnosis and procedure codes against physician documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable UAE healthcare and insurance requirements.
- Validating insurance approvals, coverage policies and coding requirements.
- Working with physicians and clinical teams to clarify diagnoses or missing information.
- Supporting billing teams in resolving coding-related claim rejections and denials.
- Monitoring insurance guidelines, coding updates and payer-specific requirements.
- Preparing coding-related audit reports.
- Supporting internal and external audits.
- Working with claim-processing teams on submission and resubmission timelines.
- Completing reconciliation, resubmission and closure processes with insurance companies.
- Maintaining professional communication when responding to customer and insurance queries.
- Participating in training and improving medical coding workflows.
Qualification & Experience
Applicants should meet the requirements specified by the employer, including:
- Bachelor’s degree in a medical or healthcare-related field.
- CPC or equivalent AAPC/AHIMA-recognized certification.
- Minimum 5–7 years of UAE medical coding experience.
- Experience specifically in outpatient coding within medical centers or day-care surgery centers in the Northern Emirates.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS.
- Familiarity with UAE healthcare insurance regulations and payer portals.
- Knowledge of platforms such as eClaimLink, Riayati and Shafafiya.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR/HIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
