The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence based nursing care to patients experiencing mental health conditions. The role involves supporting patients across assessment, treatment, recovery, and ongoing management, while working closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments, and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Deliver therapeutic nursing interventions and monitor patients’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Administer and monitor medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and physician instructions.
- Support patients and families through education, counselling, and psychoeducation to promote recovery and adherence to treatment.
