Job Purpose

The Load Master plays a critical role in Emirates SkyCargo flight operations by managing and coordinating aircraft loading activities before departure and supervising loading and unloading operations during charter and scheduled flights when required.

The role ensures that all cargo handling procedures are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Emirates operational standards, international aviation regulations, and airport requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Flight & Ground Handling Planning

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating operational planning before flights
• Arranging ground handling support at departure, transit, and destination stations
• Verifying cargo and airport operational information
• Planning cargo loads according to Emirates loading standards
• Ensuring compliance with aviation safety procedures

Cargo Loading Supervision

The Load Master is responsible for:

• Supervising Ground Handling Agents (GHA)
• Monitoring cargo loading and unloading operations
• Optimising cargo space and aircraft load distribution
• Managing loading instruction reports
• Handling temperature-sensitive and pharmaceutical cargo
• Ensuring compliance with EU GDP regulations

Aircraft Weight & Balance Management

Key duties include:

• Preparing trim sheets and load distribution plans
• Performing accurate aircraft weight and balance calculations
• Submitting documentation to the Pilot-in-Command
• Supporting safe aircraft operations

Operational Coordination

The role also involves:

• Coordinating with airport authorities and operational teams
• Managing flight documentation and weather reports
• Supporting on-time departure performance
• Assisting with delay management and operational adjustments

Dangerous Goods & Security Compliance

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting dangerous goods inspections
• Managing DG-related incidents on ground
• Ensuring aircraft security compliance
• Verifying permits and documentation for restricted cargo
• Monitoring live animal and special cargo handling procedures

Eligibility Requirements

Education

Applicants must have:

• Minimum 12 years of formal schooling or equivalent qualification

Experience

Candidates should possess:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cargo, airline, or ground handling operations within a major international airport
• Strong operational aviation knowledge
• Experience in aircraft loading and cargo handling operations

Mandatory Professional Training

Candidates must have completed:

• Load Control Level 1 & Level 2
• Dangerous Goods Acceptance Training
• Aircraft Loading & Handling Training
• Special Cargo Handling Training
• IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR) Training

Skills & Knowledge

Applicants should demonstrate:
